Visit the unique natural attractions our area has to offer.  If you aren't much of an outdoors person, stop and shop or catch a movie or musical event and at the end of the day, try some of the tasty food our area has to offer. Check out the local attractions that are all within a 20 minute drive.

 Historic Bell Theater 

The Bell Theater is a restored 1939 art deco theater that is maintained by the City of Pineville and Main Street Pineville.  It is used for many downtown events and is also available for private rentals.

Railroad Tunnel at Clear Creek Trail

A flat terrain outdoor hike that includes a railroad trestle and tunnel.  Be sure to look for the remains of the sawmill along the way.

Pine Mountain State Park

Visit the oldest state park in Kentucky.  Lots of outdoor attractions, lodging and an event center.

Chain Rock Overlook

Part of Pine Mountain State Park, but it is where the idea that there is a chain that holds a giant bolder in place so it will not crush the town of Pineville.  Visit and be the judge.  It is a moderate to difficult trail to hike.

Cumberland Gap Tunnel


The Cumberland Gap Tunnel opened to highway traffic on October 18, 1996. The tunnels are located in the Cumberland Mountains of the Appalachian Range, where the states of Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia converge.

Gap Cave (Cudjo Caverns)

Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival
Pinevile, KY


The Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival has been a cherished tradition since 1931. Each year, colleges and universities from across the state select one representative to participate in this prestigious event, held in May over Memorial Day weekend. The festival features an outdoor pageant, where candidates perform an original and elaborate 15-second curtsey to the current Kentucky governor, who then crowns the queen.
